5 Ways to Find a Coworking Space Friendly to Vanlifers

Being a digital nomad is starting to be popular since people can now work wherever they want due to the internet. Most digital nomads choose to live life on the roads, having adventures, and some now choose to be vanlifers. However, it can be lonely and difficult as you are living in a van.
Living in a van has its thrills, but you are most likely always looking for a place to be productive sometimes to make a living and to pay for gas. Wifi hotspots could only go so fast, and sometimes sitting at a cafe really sucks. The people surrounding you will not understand that you need a quiet space to do your work since they might not be there to get work done. They will always try to tempt you. In this situation, where you need some alone time with your laptop, you would want to find a place other than your van, the gym, and the cafe. Here’s how a coworking space can be very useful for a vanlifer:

Strong Internet Connection
Being a vanlifer, you need a stable internet connection to do your work since it requires staying connected. They also provide other amenities like printers, coffee, and network opportunities. It will offer you a home-like environment so you can work properly while being professional too.
Comfortable Seating
If you are a vanlifer, you should choose coworking space that is comfortable where you could chill. Sometimes, being in a van for too long could be bad for mental health as it is such a small space. Most coworking spaces feel very open, so you could stretch out a bit. Our couch is very comfortable, and we have lots of open space.
Digital Security
Coworking spaces have secure internet connections so the users can safely do their tasks. A digital nomad knows the importance of secure connections because of the confidentiality of their work. This security cannot be provided at home or coffee shops. Also, the internet is way faster than the internet in a cafe. Besides, there is a bonus perk of being able to leave your things at your desk while you go to the restroom.
Down to Earth Connections
Since a vanlifer does not work in a permanent office or live in a permanent place, they do not have long-lasting relationships one on one. Coworking spaces with casual hangout spots and down to earth people provide a greater opportunity for collaboration. You could develop links with other people related to your business. This can be of help in the present as well as the future. Even though a digital nomad is independent, they benefit greatly from interactions and collaborations. Besides sharing ideas and learning from others, it can also improve your mood.

Opportunities for Remote Work
More and more companies are hiring digital nomads and remote workers. Many companies have developed their name in coworking spaces. With the increase in remote work for companies, there would be more hiring of vanlifers.

Coworking spaces don't need to feel corporate. It could be just a step above the comfort zone of parking lots, gyms, and cafes. Also, it is nice to step on something that is not moving for a little while before hitting the road again.

If you are in town and you are vanlifing, definitely check out our space!

It is important to arrive at your destination as quickly and as safely as possible. Thankfully, we have navigation systems that you can easily download on your iPhone and have on you at all times. It is also very crucial that the map apps you are accurate and have features that will make your journey easier. Here are a few of the best map apps you should consider using:
Google Maps

Because Google’s database stores everything, you can imagine why Google Maps is very much up-to-date with every name of a restaurant, park, building, and any other location. It provides street view and indoor images to help you find your destination when you get there. The indoor map feature is very useful when you cannot find your way around large buildings, such as airports and malls. The app’s ETA is mainly accurate and has an automatic rerouting feature when there is an unexpected slowdown from an accident or construction work. Besides, if you are a bus rider, Google Maps provides real-time transit information so that your ETA shown will also be based on when your bus arrives. For inexperienced drivers, there is an option to avoid freeways, highways, and toll roads if needed. You can also swipe on the top to see your next set of directions before you get there so that you have time to prepare. The coolest feature in Google Maps is that you can download parts of the map to be used offline. This is immensely helpful when you need help navigating in areas that lack reception and internet connection.

Waze
Waze’s data on traffic is very precise thanks to constant updates from the millions of other Waze users. Waze is probably one of the better map apps we have today. This app alerts you about traffic, police, red-light cameras, and more on your drive to keep you updated on your trip and help you avoid getting a ticket. Waze also has live traffic data and will save you time because it instantly reroutes you when there is sudden traffic. Waze’s coolest feature is that it notifies you on the cheapest gas stations along your route so that you are not wasting any time or money. In addition, Waze allows you to select the voice to assist you while you drive. You can also play music from any other app easily while using Waze.

Apple Maps

Many people use Apple Maps because it is already installed on your phone. It also retrieves its data from Yelp, a crowdsource review service for businesses, so you can see photos they are available. Besides, if you tap on an address on the Yelp app, it automatically connects you to Apple Maps and helps navigate you to your destination. It also keeps track of places you have been. Apple Maps provides turn-by-turn spoken directions, 3D interactive map, and lane suggestion. Based on experience, Apple Maps occasionally advises to take strange U-turns and routes. Also, it sometimes says that you have arrived at your destination when you enter near the area or in a plaza; however, it does not give you the specific directions needed. This may be something to keep in mind the next time you use Apple Maps.

Sharing Economy at Work in the Travel Business

9/3/2019

For years, the sharing economy has been making a lot of buzz around the travel industry.
Therefore, the travel companies we have today must determine ways to react to this trending phenomenon that has managed to capture the hearts of travelers running into millions.
Although the phrase sounds new, it is in fact as old as commerce and even old as the first recorded exchanges of both goods and services.
Currently, individuals can easily reach out to total strangers all over the world at a very reduced cost web-enabling the peer to peer network.
Also, the smartphone platforms have thrown open the gates to newer stages of connectivity and reduced the bar for innovation without the costly investment in both developments as well as programming.

Travel Businesses Utilizing Sharing Economy
In the travel industry, resources that the average individual is sharing range from beds, cars, and even sofa.
All these changes have been able to grow vastly as a result of the smart companies and their clever marketing expertise. They practically discovered ways to not only promote but also package these sharers together.
Now, they are making good money by collecting a little cut from every transaction carried out. Meanwhile, some of the prominently known sharing economy travel players in the game consists of:
  • Couchsurfing
Established in the year 2003, Couchsurfing is a non-profit organization. Back in 2011, all of its assets were traded and currently, they function as for-profit hospitality exchange.
Although the concept behind hosting guests in private homes is not in any way new, Couchsurfing took it to the web and transformed it into a phenomenon that kick-started sharing economy in our 21st century.
  • Airbnb
This is a travel company based in San Francisco. It has indeed shaken a whole lot in the hospitality industry as it has never been seen before.
It can be said that Airbnb looked upon Couchsurfing, studied their ability to connect surplus accommodation resources and took it all to a whole new commercial level. The function of Airbnb is to connect homeowners with travelers and make a profit from both parties.
  • Uber
This is yet another profitable company that has successfully managed to be much more controversial than the popular Airbnb. Situated in San Francisco as well, it has quite a huge monetary backing supporting it.
Uber has brought about a successful taxi service that is based on an app. Though the company has met with resistance in recent times, it has however managed to stand tall.

Sharing Economy And The Travel Industry
With the controversies that currently surrounds both Uber and Airbnb, it has shown that both commerce and technology have made faster moves than legislation.
Due to all these, travel companies, as well as authorities, are being faced with unprecedented difficulties as even companies that have been established for years are being swept off with the speed of lightning.
However, travel companies are responding now. They now understand that they need to be flexible and so, hotel rooms, rental cars, and workspaces are being made available by the hour.
Also, more products are presented as being shareable and this includes the hotel rooms.
Sharing Economy and the travel business will ultimately result in newer marketplaces, partnerships, connections and booking processes for travel companies that are brilliant enough to swiftly adapt.

To Wrap It Up
Have it in mind that, before money was introduced, the available economies were all based on sharing tasks and possessions. Nonetheless, the sharing ability of the last few years has been transformed as a result of technology.
