It is important to arrive at your destination as quickly and as safely as possible. Thankfully, we have navigation systems that you can easily download on your iPhone and have on you at all times. It is also very crucial that the map apps you are accurate and have features that will make your journey easier. Here are a few of the best map apps you should consider using:
Google Maps

Because Google’s database stores everything, you can imagine why Google Maps is very much up-to-date with every name of a restaurant, park, building, and any other location. It provides street view and indoor images to help you find your destination when you get there. The indoor map feature is very useful when you cannot find your way around large buildings, such as airports and malls. The app’s ETA is mainly accurate and has an automatic rerouting feature when there is an unexpected slowdown from an accident or construction work. Besides, if you are a bus rider, Google Maps provides real-time transit information so that your ETA shown will also be based on when your bus arrives. For inexperienced drivers, there is an option to avoid freeways, highways, and toll roads if needed. You can also swipe on the top to see your next set of directions before you get there so that you have time to prepare. The coolest feature in Google Maps is that you can download parts of the map to be used offline. This is immensely helpful when you need help navigating in areas that lack reception and internet connection.

Waze
Waze’s data on traffic is very precise thanks to constant updates from the millions of other Waze users. Waze is probably one of the better map apps we have today. This app alerts you about traffic, police, red-light cameras, and more on your drive to keep you updated on your trip and help you avoid getting a ticket. Waze also has live traffic data and will save you time because it instantly reroutes you when there is sudden traffic. Waze’s coolest feature is that it notifies you on the cheapest gas stations along your route so that you are not wasting any time or money. In addition, Waze allows you to select the voice to assist you while you drive. You can also play music from any other app easily while using Waze.

Apple Maps

Many people use Apple Maps because it is already installed on your phone. It also retrieves its data from Yelp, a crowdsource review service for businesses, so you can see photos they are available. Besides, if you tap on an address on the Yelp app, it automatically connects you to Apple Maps and helps navigate you to your destination. It also keeps track of places you have been. Apple Maps provides turn-by-turn spoken directions, 3D interactive map, and lane suggestion. Based on experience, Apple Maps occasionally advises to take strange U-turns and routes. Also, it sometimes says that you have arrived at your destination when you enter near the area or in a plaza; however, it does not give you the specific directions needed. This may be something to keep in mind the next time you use Apple Maps.
