Fun Things You Can Do in a Coworking Space

People have flawed views of how coworking space works. Some freelancers stay away from them because they think it might be an uptight working environment where everyone focuses on their business and check out without saying a word. But this view that we just mentioned is not true because a coworking space can be the difference between getting choked up with work or having a lot of fun while you are changing the world with your latest project.

Pitch Your Idea

A coworking space is filled with a lot of intelligent people who have amazing ideas that they want to share to the world so wouldn’t it be great to get a chance to test these ideas or products with other professionals? You bet it will be!. So it would be totally fun to have “pitch your idea” where everyone gets to pitch the idea and the rest of the members chip in their ideas on how it can be better or any other opinion that they might have.

Foosball

All work and no play makes almost everyone cranky so it is extremely important that you give find ways to unwind while you are working in a coworking space and you can satisfy your fun craving with foosball with your cowork buddy. A game would not only help you unwind but also help challenge your brain in a different kind of way.

Play with Dogs in the Office

Since we are a dog friendly coworking space, we allow dogs to hang out with us while we work. Studies have shown that having a pet can help people cope with stress. Playing with the dog will not only help with your stress level, it can also be an ice breaker with your coworking neighbor. 

Friday Happy Hour

Having a Friday happy hour might seem like a distracting move but it would go a long way in increasing the bond that everyone has in the office and would give them something to look forward regardless of how their week pans out. This fun party would also be reduced to just one day in a month so it doesn’t affect the work flow of the members in the office.

Waffle Wednesday

We have Waffle Wednesdays as a community event. It is a nice way for members to connect in the middle of the week to catch up on our projects as well as our lives. As we are all humans, foods help us connect. Gluten free or vegan option available if requested. 

Birthday Celebrations

Our community manager loves to make plans to celebrate the birthday of members in the coworking space. Usually, members chip in a few bucks so we can celebrate with an awesome cake. Not only is it fun, it is also a great way to increase a sense of belonging amongst the members.

The major reason why we all work is not just to change the world but to also create better lives for ourselves. A little bit of fun would go a long way in ensuring that we maintain a good balance in our work!
