2018 is now gone and we’ve passed almost half of the first month of 2019. But while that may be so, you aren’t way past the year to launch your business. The first couple of months of the year are still here to offer you opportunities to reflect and plan to launch your business. But if you aren’t planning to start a business, here are 5 reasons why you should consider it.
1. Modern Customers Are In for More Personalized Service With businesses further adapting to a modern customer, a new business that prioritizes a seamless, personalized service and fast delivery will be available. Modern customers today gravitate to online services that can provide them with better user experiences. Yet, most businesses fail to adapt to the modern times. The New Year would be an excellent opportunity to launch a business and take advantage of attracting these potential modern customers. 2. Improved Technology Will Make Business Operations Easier Technology is more advanced than ever. You could probably build whatever you could dream of. Among the technologies to be expected this year include predictive analysis and AI, which will deliver fantastic customer experience. It will be a game changer this year, particularly in giving businesses greater insight. 3. Plenty of Small Business Opportunities If your goal is to become wealthy, launching a small business might not give you that chance. However, small business might be able to generate you an income to live with instead of working for the man. This year’s forecast shows a bit optimistic on global trade growth, and the economy is leaning to positive. With that, starting a business this year might finally realize your dream of becoming your boss and making all the decisions. 4. Significant Changes on Banking is on the Way Even before the end of the year, there are already significant changes in banking. These changes will no doubt create a massive disruption in how you make your payment. With more radical payment methods coming along with improved technology, your mobile phone will be your wallet. With this are many opportunities to bring a potentially profitable business closer to your target audience. 5. The New Year is a Time to Do Something You Love Of course, besides the changes to come this 2019, there is no reason to launch your business that is more compelling than doing something you love. If it has always been your dream to start your own business and you think you it is time, then go for it. If you work hard running your own business and truly enjoy what you do, you have the stakes to make it a success. If you are unsure if this year is the perfect year to launch your dream business finally, the reasons mentioned might be enough to start. But like what the last reason is all about, it matters a lot that you love what you do. It is essential to choose a field where you are passionate in so you can stay in the business to make it scale. Come by our modern coworking space to see how 2019 can motivate you.

Many startups are stealth mode nowadays due to the fear of others stealing their startup idea. If anyone at a coworking space asks them what they are working on, they normally say, “We are a stealth mode startup.” Of course, there are horror stories of others stealing startup ideas, but ideas are only ideas if there is no execution behind them to turn them into a business. Here are 5 reasons why sharing what your startup does might help you.
1.Get immediate feedback- If you have a product to showcase, let others in the coworking space to use your product and see what they think. Since there are so many people, you can immediately get some feedbacks on what potentials users might think. 2. Gain resources- Maybe other coworking members are connected to companies, individuals, or influencers you need for your startup. Members of Treehouse love sharing information and resources with each other. 3. Potential recruit- Are you looking for someone to help you out on building your product or potential salespeople? There could be drop-in daypassers at a coworking space or at a networking event who is excited about what you are building! Even if they aren’t looking for a job, someone from the coworking circle might also know someone with the talent you are looking for your startup. 4. Collaborate- Maybe there is another company in the coworking space looking to collaborate with someone in your field! You will never know unless you connect with them. 5. Share knowledge- You can learn so much from talking to others at a coworking space. People love sharing their knowledge over coffee or lunch. If you are still not convinced to talk about what you are working on, share only a part of your business idea especially if you are on the early stage of your startup. Coworking is great for combating loneliness, looking more professional, and social innovation. A lot of small business owners, freelancers, social enterprises, startups, and nonprofits turn to coworking as an office need not only to spark new ideas, but also to reduce cost. Also, coworking benefits range from reducing carbon footprint on your transportation to shared kitchen appliance to reduce electronic waste.
Here are a few reasons why coworking could save the environment.
No wonder coworking is the most trendy way to work. Not only does it come with professional benefits, it also helps the environment to reduce the speed of global warming. Come by Treehouse Society for a tour to help with the environment! Sharing coworking spaces is one of the biggest trends right now and they have even taken from regular office spaces. The general idea of coworking is for different sets of individuals to share a workspace. This idea stops a lot of individuals like the freelancers, entrepreneurs, web creators from going to that coffee shop or diner just to get work done. With the different sets of people sharing the workspace, there are ground rules set to avoid any form of disagreement. There are also certain dispositions that should be avoided when sharing a coworking space.
Use Your Inside Voice You should ensure to make use of your inside voice when in the coworking space. Some coworking spaces have phone booths or designated places for phone calls, so phone calls should almost always be made at this places. Although the use of phones is not prohibited in the workspace, you should be mindful of others when answering calls. Leave Immediately After Using Appliances Most people are of the habit of catching up with people when they are using the machines or simply just hogging the machines, this habit slows down productivity marginally. Once you are done using the coffee machine or the photocopier or any other appliances , leave immediately. Take the conversation to lounging areas. Respect Others' Privacy in the Space Respecting the privacy of others is a very essential part of sharing a workspace. Most people do not like when people snoop around them and so to avoid any form of disagreement, one should always be mindful of the privacy of others. Be Polite to Your Work Buddies You do not have to be best friends with the people you share a coworking space with but civility is a must in the workplace. Rudeness always leads to disagreement which is bad as it interferes with the productivity in the workplace. Keep Tidy of the Common Areas and Work Areas Don't mess up your area of the workspace and expect someone else to clean up after you. Although there will be cleaning crew to clean up the place, you should always make sure you throw all your garbage in the waste baskets. Ask Others Before Borrowing Their Property Taking the property of others is not an ideal coworking etiquette, you should learn to stick to your property to avoid misunderstandings. Although sharing is encouraged in the workspace, sticking to what is yours is most ideal. Eating at the Designated Area or Lounging Space There are places designated for eating in the coworking space and you should always endeavour to eat meals there rather than the shared workspace areas as it disrupts work flow. Eating at your own work station is acceptable as well. Keep Good Hygiene You should always take note that you are not at home, so certain things you do at home just do not fly at the workspace. Acts like nose picking , nail biting, and other habits that gross people out should be avoided in the work space. At Treehouse Society, we respect others in our coworking space to keep our productivity high. Related: Why Coworking Space Won't Cramp Your Sense of Fashion Dumplings is an international food. There are different cultures around the world who eat different types of dumplings. Here at Treehouse Society, we love trying different types of dumplings around our coworking space. This is a list of our favorite dumpling places. 1. Pushkin - This is located at 380 Bush Street inside International Food Court. By the way, International Food Court has had a grand opening sign for the last 10 years and is and underground place next to L&L Hawaiian BBQ. This is an amazing place for pelmeni, which are dumplings from Russia. Our favorite things on the menu are chicken pelmeni, beef pirojki, and squash vareniki. If it is cold outside, borsh is great here! If you are going to this place for lunch, you better get here early as the line gets long at noon. 2. Hon's Wun Tun House - This is located at 648 Kearny Street, which is less than 500 feet away from our space. This is really convenient for us to have lunch there. The chef cooking near the door always get our lunch cooked and to our table within 5 minutes. Our favorite on the menu is of course wun-tun & noodle in soup. Oh, if you want your bowl of noodle soup to be healthier, add some veggies for 50 cents. If you are a big eater, get a side of wun-tun to fill you up! 3. Bund Shanghai - This is located at 640 Jackson Street. Their Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings) are awesome! Well, be prepared to bite into a dumpling of soup, which means the soup will spill as soon as you bite into it. We normally put it into a spoon to play it safe. For optimal experience, dip your dumpling into the vinegar and ginger they give you. 4. House of Xian Dumpling - This is located on 925 Kearny Street. Our favorite items on the menu here are boiled cabbage and pork dumpling, boiled chives and shrimp dumpling, and boiled radish and beef dumpling. Save yourself some money and don't get Xiao Long Bao here. 5. City View Restaurant - This is a block away from us at 662 Commercial Street. This is a great place if you have a lot of time to kill. Not only is the line long, it takes a long time for the dim sum and dumplings to circulate the entire restaurant. Their char siu bao (bbq pork bun) is amazing. We also really love their shrimp dumpling. We normally get 2 cages of them during lunch time. Come cowork with us and have lunch breaks at our favorite dumpling places. It will be fun, we promise!

The work environment can be composed of physical conditions such as office temperature, or equipment, such as personal computers. It can also be related to factors such as work processes or procedures.
People are happiest and most productive when they work in an environment that suits them. Companies have different cultures, so it is essential for them to hire people who fit. The work environment can involve the social interactions at the workplace, including interactions with peers, subordinates, and managers. They should be comfortable at work to be super productive. Everyone has a preferred way of working. Some people like the formality of processes. They like it when processes are in place, so they know what steps to take. Others may prefer a more informal work environment in which there is less structure in in the way the company operates. They like extemporaneous meetings in lobbies and hallways, and business decisions are made over a casual lunch. 1. The individual-focused environment In an individual-focused environment, the office offers individuals the flexibility to customize their working styles. Some individuals may be allowed to work from home if that doesn't interfere with their productivity. Others may have flexible hours, and still, others may customize their desks and furniture however they like. Everyone works differently, and this environment recognizes and celebrates that fact. 2. The 'open skeptic' environment In a skeptical environment, everything is questioned because questions are encouraged. When someone suggests a new marketing strategy, someone else asks why it would work better than the alternative. Questions feed discussion, and because everyone is asking questions, everyone is moving the company forward. Nobody is judged or reprimanded for his or her ideas. and all ideas are considered equally. 3. The no-walls environment The no-walls environment is all about keeping the team together. There are no offices or enclosed cubicles (or if there are, the doors are open), so employees can speak freely with one another. These environments usually have a common break room, and team-building events to inspire cooperation and mutual appreciation. 4. The mutual-feedback environment This environment favors honest feedback above all other forms of communication. When a worker needs to improve, he or she is told about it. When a boss' approach is unproductive or inefficient, that communication is made, too. People trust one another to give, listen to, and act on mutual feedback, and everyone can improve as a result. 5. The unified environment The unified environment allows people to operate as individuals but still, focus on succeeding as a team. This type of environment usually setws "team" goals and will enable people to work together in smaller groups to accomplish team tasks. Employees are focused on working together, and individually hold themselves accountable for the quality of their work. A startup environment is very important. As startup is driven by early people, it is important to set up an environment where everyone can be productive and have an efficient way to give feedbacks to make sure everything is working correctly. No matter what set up you need for your startup, Treehouse Society has you covered. Schedule a tour today! Related: How to Test Your Startup Idea in a Coworking Space There is a lot of confusion between small business owners and entrepreneurs. They are both risk takers pursuing their own vision and need a lot grid to make things happen. The main difference is that entrepreneurs usually take outside funding to build something way bigger while small business owners start and run a business with limited resources and planning.
Entrepreneurs are always thinking way ahead about the next thing in the world. They dream of how the world can improve. They do not settle for status quo. Entrepreneurs usually dream up of new ideas that could work or not work and try to scale it. They grow startups into big companies. They usually go for outside funding as this is a new scalable, high risk, high reward, venture. Entrepreneurs usually dream up of improving the world in a vast way and normally do not sell an already available merchandise or franchise or dealership. Entrepreneurs usually operate years before revenue comes into the door. Small business owners start their business to mostly feed themselves. Small businesses normally do not scale up like a startup. They make small decisions and usually operate the business themselves. Small business owners walk on right ropes with a safety net underneath. They are usually the bedrocks of local economies. People normally think that small businesses are only retail and some franchise owners, but with the internet, there are other options such as e-commerce, drop shipping, consulting, and freelancing. Whatever the differences, it is undeniable that both entrepreneurs and small business owners began with vision, energy, and enthusiasm to implement their businesses. The difference might be that entrepreneurs know when to sell and move on to another innovative project. Small business owners are happy running his or her business and are satisfied with their autonomy. They might not even dream of selling. Our neighbor, Wok Shop, never dreamed of selling her business no matter how many offers she received because running her business is her pride. Entrepreneurs and small business owners create their own jobs and many others if they are successful. With technological advancement, technology startups which turned corporations have helped small businesses in many ways. For example, the Wok Shop has been on Amazon since 1999 and have been growing her business with Amazon. No matter if you are a small business owner or an entrepreneur, we have a perfect space for you to be productive at Treehouse Society. You will be surrounded by other motivated entrepreneurs, small business owners, and freelancers to keep your grit going. Related: Best CRM for Freelancers and Small Businesses Today, fashion has left the comfortable era of simple dresses and clean shoes. Your sense of fashion is a primary informant of the basic and most important things in your life, a description of your essence, amongst other things. If you are a software engineer, you might just be in a t-shirt and jeans still, but freelancers, consultants, and other creatives might feel differently about fashion.
The suit and tie corproate look is no longer the norm as more people are gravitating towards the coworking space, which translates to "no dress codes." There is no need to have a wardrobe of professional business-like outfits it you have transitioned to the coworking environment, which revolves around dressing for yourself. Coworking and fashion are not the most common words put together in a sentence. In fact, this blog post is a little bit weird, but we are exhausted on a Thursday and just decided to write whatever might be fun for us. A coworking spaces are the trickiest place to keep up a fashion style, seeing as there are no rules. So who says you can't wear joggers to work? If that is how you feel, then, own it. Coworking space, unlike a home office, gives you an excuse to wear pants during your work day. Working from a home office can sometimes be difficult to be motivated to try to look good or wear pants as even when you are on a video conference call, they do not see your lower body. Here are a few more reasons we think the coworking space is a perfect fit for your fashion sense; IT ALLOWS FOR EXPRESSION The coworking facility allows you to express yourself and not have to wear a tie when you feel like wearing denim. In a traditional office, there are rules and dress codes that have to be strictly followed, but with a coworking space, no one makes the rules, so there is less to worry about. Coworking spaces, alongside the freedom of creative ingenuity, also affords everyone the luxury of looking elegant, relaxed, or world class, as often as you please. It embraces the mystery of the new age's view of professionalism, as each person as a unique means of embracing and representing his or her style, which is one that trumps every form of routine or stereotype. If you are into arts or culture, working from a coworking space affords you the luxury of putting on your handmade clothes to work everyday if you so desire. YOU CAN DRESS WITH YOUR BUSINESS IN MIND In the 21st century, where everyone is trying to make a statement with their brand and personal identity, every opportunity to present your business is like a goldmine. The success of a business meeting or a happy hour networking session depends strongly on the first impression, the majority of which involved a sense of fashin that is quickly noticed. It makes passing the message of your brand across easier because whoever meets you can already begin to form an impression about you. Ideas are not the only things shared in a coworking space, and because there is freedom to be yourself, you might as well pass off a strong first impression with your outfit. For example, if Hugh Hefner wears pajamas for his brand and could get away with it most of the time because it is his branding! YOU CALL THE SHOTS Unlike traditional offices where someone else decides what to wear Monday through Friday, at a coworking facility, you call the shots. You make the rules; you decide what you wear, The possibilities are so limitless when you are working from a coworking space, seeing as you are completely in charge. At Treehouse Society, our members are in style. Lately, the heat in San Francisco is out of control, but our members are still dressed casually elegant with strong branding in this weather. Ditch your suit and tie and cowork with us today! Related: Turning Your Passion into a Career In a 2016 interview with Fortune, John Capioppo, author of Loneliness: Human Nature and the Need for Social Connection, argued that loneliness has a physical and psychological effect on people's health: "[Loneliness] is bad for your mental health: well-being goes down, depressive symptoms go up, your likelihood of developing mental and affective disorders increases," he said. While this is a known fact, a lot of people are even lonelier in their place of work more than ever. A coworking space can help in stemming the tide of loneliness.
Humans are inherently social creatures who thrive when placed in groups or communities where they feel a sense of belonging. Working within an organization has traditionally been a primary way for people to feel engaged. But with the growing numbers of entrepreneurs and freelancers, that structure has changed. A lot of people are now freelancing, and are enjoying the opportunity and autonomy that independence can bring. This freedom comes at a price, however, as freelancing in isolation can lead to depression, a decrease in productivity, and loneliness. This is where the power of coworking comes into play. Coworking, is also a form of work which involves a shared working environment, often in an office. Unlike your usual office, the people who are coworking are usually not under the employment of the same corporation. Coworking is typically attractive to independent contractors, freelancers, small business owner, digital nomads, or startups who don't want to work in isolation. Coworking seeks to cure this problem of isolation because it is made up of a group of like-minded people coming to work together not because they are bound by employment by an organization, but because they want to share ideas and just coexist. Coworking solves the social interaction problem that face freelancers, consultants, small business owners, and solopreneurs. Ways in which coworking has helped to cure loneliness include social events, client referrals, belonging to a community, and creating a work/life balance. Many coworking spaces host events such as happy hour and lunch and learn, which are great ways to make connections with new members of the coworking space. These events are also ways to build networking connections and meet potential clients. Belonging to a community of similarly minded individuals reminds freelancers that their struggles are shared and together, a group of coworking individuals is like a support system. Also, when people work from home, they have a hard time separating work from life. But when they work in a coworking space, they are able to remove themselves from the work life at the end of the day, creating a health balance. At Treehouse Society, we host happy hours, mixers, and workshops for freelancers and young professionals to learn from each other. A typical work day here doesn't go without work buddies discussing ideas at lounging areas and our kitchen over coffee. Sometimes, the conversation is about the best practices for marketing and others, it's about the best spots near San Francisco. DeskMag asked individuals what had changed for them since they transitioned to coworking. 86% attested to the fact that they felt less lonely, and 92% said it had increased their social circle. A lot of positive physical and mental health benefits are associated with coworking. As a movement, coworking is built to serve the direct need of human interaction, and in doing so, it is eliminating the component of loneliness which used to be a problem for freelancers. This accounts for why it has grown in popularity right alongside the freelancing and entrepreneurial movement. This is why freelancers and entrepreneurs love coworking. Related: Health Benefits of a Coworking Space Where do you work? Is it from home or a coffee shop? Are you among the community of the mobile workforce in consulting, contracting, freelancing, or have your own business? You are not alone, currently, there are about 53 million Americans freelancers today and by the year 2020, 50% of the US workforce will be freelancers. This leads to the rise of coworking space, which are growing rapidly around the world to serve as a convenient place to have adequate focus and concentration for freelancers.
